Interested in taking dual credit classes through UCM, whether on our campus or on their campus? UCM Innovation Track advisors will be here Monday, April 17th at 6 pm to let you know how to make this happen. Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Individual advising sessions by UCM personnel will follow that week during the school day. Please be looking for that information soon.

WHS is having New Student Orientation Sessions this year:

 Thursday, Aug 11 from 1-2:30 pm

Monday, Aug 15 from Noon-1:30 pm

Tuesday, Aug 16 from 9-10:30 am

Please plan on attending any one of the sessions.  We would like at least one parent/guardian to come to the session with the student.  At these sessions, we will go over a lot of important information including requesting classes.  Please bring your questions so we can help you get off to a great start at WHS.

WHS will be having Apply Missouri Week next week, OCT 10-14. Seniors-be looking for an email from Mrs. Nimmo about the festivities. All students (9-12) have ways to participate as well. Be listening to the announcements!!

If you are planning on taking an AP test in the Spring you must declare that intent in your College Board account by November 10th and pay $96  to Mrs. Nimmo by November 10th as well.

Are you a 10th, 11th or 12th grader interested in the health-care field?

ACES is a year-long program designed to prepare students

for a career in the healthcare field.

ACES students receive:

Individual Career Planning session with AHEC staff member.

Hands-on enrichment activities.

Field trips to colleges and university health-professions training programs (as allowed with COVID)

College and career preparation activities.

Student leadership activities.

Exposure to a variety of healthcare careers.

Networking opportunities.

 

Pick up an application in the Counseling Office. The deadline to apply is Sept 30th.

Senate Bill 638 established in 2016 requires that each school district provide the address of the website created by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to inform all parents of the students in its district about the trauma-informed schools initiative that includes information for schools and parents regarding the trauma-informed approach and a guide for schools on how to become trauma-informed schools.  Here is the link to the website: http://motraumaschools.com.
